How to Clean a Liforme Travel Yoga Mat Without Ruining the Grip

Quick Answer

Clean your Liforme travel yoga mat with a mild soap and water solution, using a soft cloth and gentle circular motions, then air dry completely to preserve its grip.

Step-by-Step Cleaning Process

1. Prepare a gentle cleaning solution: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap or a specialized yoga mat cleaner with water in a spray bottle. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol, or bleach. Always test the solution on a small corner first.
2. Wipe the mat with a soft cloth: Spray the solution lightly onto a soft microfiber cloth, not directly on the mat. Wipe the surface in gentle circular motions to remove dirt and oils. Do not scrub aggressively; this can wear down the grip.
3. Rinse with a clean damp cloth: Use a separate cloth dampened with plain water to wipe away any soap residue. Soap left on the mat can make it slippery. Make sure the cloth is only damp, not soaking wet.
4. Air dry completely: Lay the mat flat on a drying rack or over a clean, dry surface. Let it air dry completely before rolling it up or using it again. Never use a dryer or place the mat in direct sunlight for long periods.
